The Family Crimes Unit of the Stockton Police Department Investigations Division monitors and tracks sex offender registrants living in the city limits of Stockton.

California Penal Code Section 290 lists the convictions that require sex offender registration.

These crimes include: indecent exposure, rape, sex trafficking and crimes involving minors.

Registration can also be required for other types of crimes that were sexually motivated.

According to the 290 law, one may also be required to register as a sex offender if convicted of a sex crime in another state.

Please Note: Not all sex offender registrants are child molesters.
